Advertising
It is very important for NRS to commence advertising several weeks in advance and to manage the start dates, duration of work and variable hours.
Whilst advertising and screening for the positions, we take care to explain the nature of the work and to maintain close, frank contact with candidates to ensure their availability to commence work as soon as required.
Nationwide Recruitment utilises a broad range of advertising media including internet resources, newspapers, radio and relevant agencies and largely by continually revisiting our current and past employees contained in our database.
Initial Telephone Screening
Before being granted an interview, candidates must satisfy minimum set of criteria. During their initial contact by telephone or from their resume we assess their basic suitability for the role, relevant experience, relevant qualifications, track record in terms on employment stability, aspirations for work and verbal communication skills.
Interview
All candidates are asked to complete our forms providing details of their:
- Employment History
- Medical records
- Personal Details
- Skills & Qualifications - copies of certificates, licences etc
- Contactable Work References
- Driving Record
- Police Clearances
Our consultants interview thoroughly and effectively, questioning the candidate in the context of our clients requirements and by providing information about the proposed job. This will ensure the candidate understands what will be expected of them.
Candidates are advised clearly of the positions nature whether it be for a permanent role or a casual role.
Their suitability is verified using examples of their previous work and enabling us to assess their:
- Attitude towards and their commitment to work
- Knowledge and acceptance of OH & S principles
- Understanding of the principles of handling hazardous substances
- Ability to work as an effective team member
- Initiative
- Evidence of ability to fault find and problem solve
Reference Checking
A minimum of two telephone reference checks are conducted and documented, verifying aspects of the candidates performance, skill levels, attitude and workplace behaviour. Written references, where possible are verified by phone or fax.
Of key importance is that references are directly relevant or at least in the context of work within the appropriate environment.
Physical Capacity of Candidates
Candidates complete a thorough medical questionnaire - a copy is provided with this proposal. Before assignment they are given written advice of the code of conduct and made aware of the consequences of failure to comply.
Nationwide Recruitment deals with all major Health Clinics throughout Perth and is more then happy to organise medicals whenever requested to do so.
